AddSearch allows you to show meta descriptions as the highlighted text in the search results.

AddSearch indexes meta description if it exists on the web page. Otherwise, AddSearch uses selected content from the web page as the highlighted text in the search result.

To show the meta description in the search result, you need to enable the setting from the AddSearch dashboard.

The number of characters in the highlighted text is 150. In order to display all content, we recommend keeping the meta description under 150 characters.

Using meta description as highlight text requires that meta description is defined in the web page.

To set up showing the meta descriptions on your Dashboard follow these instructions:

  1. Login to your AddSearch Account
  2. Go to Other settings under Setup
  3. Under Show meta descriptions in search results
  4. Switch the setting to enable or disable showing meta descriptions in search results
