AddSearch allows you to show meta descriptions as the highlighted text in the search results.

AddSearch indexes meta description if it exists on the web page. Otherwise, AddSearch uses selected content from the web page as the highlighted text in the search result.

The number of characters in the highlighted text is 150. In order to display all content, we recommend keeping the meta description under 150 characters.

Instructions

Using meta description as highlight text requires that meta description is defined in the web page. To enable meta descriptions for your search results:

  1. Open the Search Designer tool
  2. Check the Display Meta Description option in the Basic options of Search Designer
  3. Click Apply Changes at the bottom of your Search Designer settings
