Schools and universities

Schools and universities require site search functionality that provides accurate search results and meets required standards without putting excessive strain on scarce IT resources. It must be simple enough for young students and those without technological know-how to use with ease.

AddSearch provides world-class search experience

Our proprietary search algorithm provides accurate search results and helps your students and faculty to quickly find the information they were looking for.

Self-learning algorithm

Our intelligent algorithm learns from your users and boosts the popular results that are clicked frequently.

Typo tolerance

Your users will find Caribbean hotels whether they search for Carribean, Carribbean or Caribean.

Your company sells trousers, but some of your users call them ‘pants’ or ‘slacks’. AddSearch allows you to specify certain words as synonyms that should produce the same search results.

Hidden keywords

Sometimes visitors search using informal terms that aren’t directly included on the relevant page. The hidden keyword feature allows you to tag pages with other common search phrases or words, so that they show up even when the search term is not on the page.

AddSearch is accessible

Accessibility is one of the key requirements public organizations have. AddSearch has great support for technologies such as mouse-free navigation and screen-readers.

No mouse required

The search interface can be operated solely using keyboard shortcuts, and does not require a mouse.

Screen-reader support

The search interface and results page is screen-reader friendly. For example, the HTML is semantically correct and images have “alt” attributes.

Use search analytics to understand your users and guide content production

Gain valuable insight into how your users are using search. Our search analytics tool helps you to discover how often your users search, what they search for, and whether they find it. We also highlight the searches that returned no results, as well as searches with no clicks on the results. You can use this information to guide future content production and to give your users exactly what they are asking for.

Popular searches

Our analytics help you to understand how often visitors use search, and which terms they’re searching for most. Use this information to build your FAQ page and highlight your most searched for – and often most valuable – content.

Searches with no results

Uncover the searches with no results. Use these searches to drive your future content production, as well as tagging existing pages with hidden keywords and building your synonym library.

Searches with no clicks

Irrelevant results are almost as bad as no results. Use this tool to enhance your existing content, or to produce new content that answers your user’s questions more accurately.

Customer story

Harper Adams University

Harper Adams University made massive changes to their website and needed a new search solution as an alternative to the Google site-search they had before.

A business-critical function that required a fast solution and great support.

HAU compared several similar services, but decided that AddSearch was the easiest one to implement. “We wanted an easy to implement, advert free solution, and needed it quickly”, says Tom. Search function is the most frequently used function on HAU’s website, as people rely on it to find information on the website quickly. “Most of our users were accustomed to the search function on our old website”, Tom says. So the search function was extremely important for the university and they needed to ensure that it worked perfectly, after the website was relaunched. The AddSearch service was easy and quick to implement, and Tom received fast replies from the customer support. “AddSearch support has been amazing – quick to respond, and very helpful answers to my questions!”. Tom has been more than satisfied with the solution for HAU’s website. “Yes, I would recommend this product to others!” AddSearch met all the requirements and the university has been happily using the service since.
