My site runs on multiple domains. Does AddSearch support that?
Yes. You can add subdomains (domain.site.com) as well as top-level domains (anothersite.com) to the same search. This is a premium feature that’s reserved for paid subscribers. Domains and subdomains can be managed in the AddSearch Dashboard.
- Login to your AddSearch account.
- Go to Settings, and scroll down to “Additional Domains”.
- Click on “Add new domain +”, and in the field, fill in the domain name without protocol (http) or trailing slash. Click Save, and you’re done.
- Our crawlers will now start adding the pages of this new domain to the index. If you have no internal links to the new domain, you need to
Add the frontpage of the new domain to your search with Dashboard’s Index tools feature. After that our crawlers will start adding the pages of the new domain to your index.
By default your search results contain hits from all of your domains. To receive results from a single domain, your installation script needs an additional “categories” parameter with a 0x prefixed domain filter:
You can add multiple categories with comma separation. The value of categories parameter could be for instance 0xblog.domain.com,0xwww.domain.com to return search results only from blog.domain.com and www.domain.com.
